– a collision of art and writing interlocking in spirals

Injust Ice

hey ya!

Just a heads up, coming up is another busy period in my life,  so you may not be hearing from me for a while 🙂

So last week I felt challenged to pray using a different way, and what better way to pray than listening to upbeat music and blog? xD so yup, I’m giving myself about 5minutes to write as much as I can before I get back into what I need to do!

Today I’ve been thinking of all the injustice  in this world, all those hurting from the consequences of others. And I just knew that today I had to pray for all those who are broken in the world. I was searching for some music with Christian lyrics on youtube, and found these songs in the recommended videos on the right side 😛

May you be encouraged by my prayer, and these songs.
If you are suffering, remember that you are NEVER  alone. There are people who can help you – I warmly encourage you to seek those who can help you. I am praying for you.

Enjoy 🙂

DISCLAIMER: The intention of this post was not to offend anyone unreligious. Different people choose to respond to injustice differently, and this is just one way I choose to respond to it. If reading prayers offends you then feel free to not read my blog. Thank-you.

Sanctus Real – Alone   (Such an upbeat song for a sad title :P)

you are not alone
know that I will fight the tides to be together
when you feel alone
listen to this song
to make your heart feel better

and a slightly sadder song..
Broken Girl by Matthew West

you’re not the worthless they made you feel
There is a love they can never steal awayy
you don’t have to stay the broken girl

All this time – Britt Nicole

Speak Life – Toby Mac

Lord, I pray for all the injustice in this world. The injust that glazes like ice and hardens and breaks people’s hearts. I pray that you may help those affected by the broken, and those reaping the consequences of others’ actions. May you bring hope into their lives, and help them out of the hole they feel they’ve stepped into. Show them a way out, Father. Bring healing to them, and mend their broken hearts. Whatever they may be suffering from, whatever they’re going through – Lord, be with them. Place people in their lives that will help them out of their hurt. I pray for all who are hurt, all who are in need, that they may have newfound motivation, purpose and meaning in their lives, and be able to continue on.

God, may You instill inspire these individuals in different areas, and help them uncover their talents and put them to use. There is so much injustice in this world, and it’s disheartening to see, especially when our abilities are so limited and also when it seems not much can be done to undo the past.

May the past not hold the individuals back. Lord, bless them each and every day. Although I don’t fully understand why these things happen, I still pray that you’ll continue to watch over them and love them. Don’t forget them, Lord. Though I have faith that you won’t 🙂

In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Behind Closed Doors

Behind Closed Doors

Behind closed doors

I hear a knock

so faint, can’t tell

if it’s real

or not

this knock I hear

getting louder,

Loud, then soft

and at times,

The door is shut

its padlock

clamped tight.

The door

doesn’t open

Things just aren’t

The knock

gets weaker,

the signal more

The door

changes from

shiny brown

to taint.

How I wish

she’d come

to be consoled,

the door-knocker

that’s so lonely,

and tell me all

she’s the one

I wish to help

if only she’d let me,

I’d help her myself

-to be finished!

Any suggestions?-

Any ideas on how to link the 2nd to last and last stanza?

I intentionally left no full stop at the end – it means there’s no end to this poem.. it’s to be continued.
And also that there’s no end to this. Even though the narrator can’t help the person knocking on the door now, the narrator wishes to – and hopes to – do so in the future.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7

No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. – Joshua 1:5

At whose own pace?

Hey ya,

Was just reading through a book, and thought post a quick update 😛
For some reason a song I used to sing in sunday school popped up in my head.
I kept hearing the lyrics in my ears.. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end” and there was a desire to hear the song again.

I youtubed the song, but couldn’t find the one I used to sing in sunday school.. then I stumbled across this:

It’s quite a slow version, and I almost got so annoyed with the pace that I wanted to close the browser tab. I couldn’t find a better version, so I just kept listening.. and you know what? I realised that sometimes we race too fast in life, we’re at too much of a hurry that we miss what God wants us to focus on. (Before you say “whatt, you only just realised now? I realised that ages ago!” Yes, there’s been countless posts on slowing down and enjoying life, but we all hit that heartfelt moment of realisation at different times and I suppose this is mine.)

Even something as simple as listening to a song – the lyrics may be sung too fast, or the beat pumping away through our eardrums so quickly that we miss the meaning. When a song is slowly spoken out, its meaning becomes clear. We notice things we don’t usually hear, and the singer can communicate through that clear channel without obstructions in the way. The “noise” in music is taken out, and the melody is pure indeed.

Perhaps God wants me to slow down for a moment and just bask in his love. Maybe he wants me to walk with him at his pace, after he’s been running beside me this whole time..

“The steadfast love of the Lord
Never ceases
His mercies never
Come to an end

They are new every morning
New every morning
Great is your faithfulness
O Lord

Great is thy faithfulness, O Lord…
Great is thy faithfulness…”

Please excuse my grammar mistakes 😛
Sometimes it’s nice to be able to write whatever’s on your mind without worrying about grammar or editing everything so it’s polished. So here’s my writing at its most raw form; writing I’m sharing with you.
