– a collision of art and writing interlocking in spirals

Whenever I have a lot to do and things start to get a bit stressful, I like turning to classical music to de-stress. Piano music, in particular, is my favourite.

This song has a slight sad feel to it, but no sooner do I feel sad from the song, different blessings pop up in my mind, and I am reminded that God is here with me.

“Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” – Matthew 6:26

That’s a small update from me, during a busy time 🙂

Tropical Island

Hey guys,

So I was wondering which of my artwork I hadn’t posted up, and realised you guys haven’t seen the one on my wall yet!
It’s something I painted quite a few years ago. It’s signed 2010, but the date is only an approximation haha (I signed it today).
This picture was special to me because it represented my dreams and inspirations back in 2010.
It was also the first time I painted in acryl. It’s the second painting I’ve ever done, I believe.

Hope you like it 🙂

I have a friend who likes peacocks, so I decided my next blog post would be this drawing I did for her 🙂
For this one I used a mixture of watercolour and acrylic paints.
There’s also a bible verse on it that came to mind as I was painting.

I hope you like it 🙂

#Firstworldproblems – a Reflection on Gratitude

Hi guys!

I was watching some of Elainemokk’s vlogs (I’ll post the links below) and it’s made me realise how ungrateful I am sometimes of what I have. Her positivity makes me think “if she can do it, why can’t I?”. I think because she’s “walking the talk”, people are more likely to believe that you can still stay positive in each and every situation. It reminds me of something someone close to me taught me.. “You can’t control how other people act, or what happens, but you can control your own actions and how you choose to react to the situation.”
Anchor – Hillsong Live

Elaine’s story reminded me of this verse.

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

— 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Then I felt guilty. I don’t think I’ll complain as much about certain things in life any more.
God’s grace is so good. It’s not what I did, but what He did for me.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves,
it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.

—  Ephesians 2:8-9

My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus’ blood in righteousness..

Does anyone else feel like they’re overly unappreciative sometimes?
Everyone has their own struggles I reckon, despite the strong front they may put on;
but I am content with what I have right now. It’s going to be a good day.
